I am thrilled to say that I joined Facebook as a Software Engineer early this week.
There are tons of press coverage/blog posts/tweets/rumors about it online so I don’t need to go much into details. The most attractive part to me is, Facebook builts or helps to build many frameworks, like Cassandra and Hive, to make sure services at large scale as Facebook itself work fast and well. Another very attractive part is, there are many top talents you can work with. This feeling gets stronger and stronger duing my interview process and first days.
I surprisingly met one of my high school classmate, who also just joined, after our last meet more than 10 years ago; and one of my CMU classmate, whom I didn’t meet since my graduation. An anecdote supporting the Facebook mission “make the world more open and connected”. And I now join to help it.
